Susan’s Sound Advice #903

When I was a kid in school, I excelled in writing. It was my strongest subject. I used to write in my diary and dramatize my real life experiences into more of a script than plain notation. I seriously enjoyed it, and I didn’t do it for anyone else’s applause…. it was for my own pleasure. Once I was out of school and reached adulthood, I never really wrote again, , , , , , don’t know why. Many of us lose touch with many of the things we loved as our younger selves. Adulthood and pressure to succeed and make a living squeezes that passion out of us. If it doesn’t earn money for us, then why do it? It wasn’t until 2010 that I re-discovered my passion when I started blogging here on Facebook. I was taken back to my teens when I felt that sheer joy of doing something that I love and something that comes naturally to me. When people started asking me to write a book, my first thought was “who would read it? I don’t know how to write a book, No one will buy it and I will waste my money and my time”. If I had listened to my middle- age self, I would have been dead wrong. And if my 13 year old self heard my thoughts, she would have cried her eyes out and written about it in her diary……Think back to what you loved doing as a kid…this is the key to finding your passion. #susankorwin
