Susan’s Sound Advice #934

Today is Father’s Day. Last month was Mother’s Day. Restaurant reservations made, barbecues planned, gifts bought. That’s all well and good. But here’s my opinion: Let your parents know every single day that you love and value them. Take the time to spend time with them, whether on a holiday or otherwise. It’s not a declaration or date on the calendar that counts, rather, it is showing your love on your own without a “Hallmark” reminder. How wonderful would it it be to surprise a loved one when they’re not expecting it! There’s nothing more precious than giving the gift of quality time year round. Seriously, if you’re waiting for a time when you’re less busy, it will likely never come. Life always gets in the way. It’s time to take notice and consider what counts as we’re running around with our constant “to do” lists and jam packed schedules. My parents are both gone now, and take it from me: You can’t go back and do it over. So, if you have parents that are still alive…cherish them each and every day. #happyfather ‘sday. #susankorwin
