Susan’s Sound Advice #935

It’s a fact of life: Our brains are hard-wired to pay more attention to negative experiences, and the more negativity we see in the world, the more likely we are to believe that everything is horrible. Over time, we become more and more cynical, and we share that disposition with everyone around us without even thinking about it. I realize that there are many nasty, evil people in this world. On adaily basis, we hear about mass murders, kidnappings, random shootings, theft, etc. But, let me say this: On a daily basis, I walk down the street and people smile at me; I see people offering their help to strangers; I see the generosity of people who are not wealthy; I see people go the extra mile when they don’t really have to. The list goes on and on. We create the world we live in. We can see it as an evil place with a few kind people, or we can see it as a kind place with some evil in it. Don’t allow yourself to become cynical of life…. . Focus on what’s right with the world and not what’s wrong with it. You will be so much happier, and so will everyone who spends time with you! #susankorwin
