11 Jul Susan’s Sound Advice #943
About two weeks ago, I was very busy with life…clients, household obligations, etc. It kept me from checking Facebook and from posting my usual status updates. I noticed something interesting during that time: I felt lighter. I felt less stressed. I then began researching and found that there truly is a link between spending lots of time on Facebook and overall happiness. So, it was then that Idecided to limit my time. I now have my mornings free to prepare for my day and I have phone conversations with my friends instead of messaging. I am sorry if I don’t see your posts and “like” them. It doesn’t mean I don’t support you. I will still post here now and then…I still use Instagram for photo sharing to Facebook…but I have to admit that I like it the way it is. I urge you to try this: Start tracking how much you use social media/the internet/your phone. Spend a day noting your usage in a small notebook. You’ll be surprised as to how quickly the minutes add up! If you find that you spend a total of 3 hours or more on social media sites, aim to cut it back to around an hour. Try it. If you can, then keep cutting back until you get to a number that makes you feel proud and less stressed. The present moment is all we have. Spend it wisely! #susankorwin
