Susan’s Sound Advice #984

“Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn”. Everyone knows this phrase which was made famous by Clark Gable in “Gone with the Wind”. But, how many of us ever say that to ourselves when, from the minute we wake up in the morning, we are worried or affected by some rude comments or just caring what others think about us. Who gives a damn…really! Does the opinion of strangers really matter to you? Itused to bother me when someone would make a rude comment about me on a photo, especially someone who I don’t even know. It used to bother me if someone wasn’t impressed with my writings. But, as I matured, I realized that living life following the ideal notions of others is an awful and stressful way to live. Eventually our actions, appearances, and lives become molded by how we think other people perceive us. We end up as spineless followers who are afraid to be unique or stand out from the crowd. Yesterday was the last day living your life dictated by what others think. Today, you’re going to stop being hurt by the rude comments or opinions of others. Today is the day you are going to take chances and be yourself. Today is the day you’re going to stop giving a damn! #susankorwin
