Our self-worth is not dependent on how many contests we win or how many parties we are invited to. Rather, we gain self worth and character in how we lead our lives and the decisions we make each and every day. In reality, we are not going to win any gold medals for our hard work; there are no grand prizes for living a life of integrity. These decisions are made in order to fill ourselves with joy and self-respect. The saying, “it’s not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game” holds true for life. The greatest prize of all is your dignity, and that comes with doing your best each and every day!
